Quantum Firmware 1.01 brought us “Reduced CPU Usage” compared to previous firmware. Below you will find a spreadsheet that compares QFW 1.01 with the previous QFW 1.00, showing the CPU differences of every Block and Type within the block. In many cases, CPU is reduced, most notably in the Cab block (especially when using Stereo Cabs), Reverb block and Drive block.

When asked if the CPU reduction affects quality in anyway, Cliff said

There is no change to the algorithms. The reduced CPU usage is due to improvements in coding so as to minimize any pipeline stalls and low-level function overhead.

Note that all blocks are loaded at Default Settings, and only the Type is changed. Also no USB was connected and no audio was being processed (no guitar being played, audio coming out, etc.). All values are within +/- .1% or so. This chart is for general reference only as the values can change due to parameter settings within the blocks.

First is a Google Doc embed best viewed on a computer.  Below it is a plain table better for mobile.
