UPDATE – 3.3.1 was released on Sept 18 with a quick bug fix for the Cab Manager. Details of 3.3.0 below still apply.

Axe-Edit 3.3.0 was released today. The main features are full support for Quantum Firmware 1.00, and a redesigned layout for the Amp and Cab blocks.

When opening recent older versions of Axe-Edit, you will be prompted to download the installer and update. If not, you can go to the FAS site to download: http://www.fractalaudio.com/p-axe-edit-software.php

This version of Axe-Edit requires Quantum Firmware 1.00 or newerread about it here. So if you are using an older version of Axe-Fx Firmware, do NOT update to this new version.

A note from FAS: “For those previously running the public beta of Quantum with Axe-Edit, please choose “Refresh after new FW” from the Settings menu in Axe-Edit 3.3 to get the latest block definitions.”

Here is an excerpt from a live stream on Twitch.tv where I compared the Old and New versions of the Amp and Cab blocks. I plan to update this post with a detailed description of where the parameters have been moved in the new version.

Read the full list of Release Notes below for all the changes in this version.

Important Notes!

In general after updating: If Axe-Edit does not connect to your Axe-Fx II, manually de-select and re-select the ports under Settings: Preferences: General.

If Axe-Edit does not show new Axe-Fx parameters after a firmware update, do a Block Definitions refresh under Settings: Preferences: Refresh.
