Short answer: Yes.

Cat 5e is the current standard for ethernet cables supporting speeds up to 1000 Mbps and has basically replaced Cat 5 cables.

As long as the cable is an ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors and NOT a cross-over type cable, a Cat 5e cable will work the same as a Cat 5 with your MFC-101 and Axe-Fx II.
